I simply find the fact that you?d hunt someone down - just to *prove* them wrong on some stupid, trivial thing - sad as fuck.
Oh, well.

However, what is sad is Nigel has left his completely inaccurate cost comparisons betweem 8mm and 16mm on the Brantley forum.

Alex just takes film more seriously than any of us.
"We are an intelligent, mature community and resource for sharing information about small-gauge filmmaking, particularly Super-8 and other 8mm film formats"....
....so says forum statement mission on the Brantley Super-8 forum.
The inaccurate Super-8 cost comparison to 16mm that has been posted on Brantley's forum by Nigel is of concern to me because the forum is primarily about Super-8mm filmmaking.
If Brantley's forum were titled "Mike's view of the World", then I wouldn't care, but it doesn't say that.
Nigel made a mistake. I really don't care that Nigel made a mistake. What I do care about is his complete lack of responsibility or willingness to clarify what was probably an honest mistake.
I guess correcting information on a forum that claims to offer "intelligent" Super-8 information isn't an intelligent thing to do.
Now, there really is no point in continuing this is it? We all know what the point is, and that the error probably won't be corrected.
Maybe I meant pedantic...
But I'm still amazed Nigel's email AND PM magically gobbled up your messages. Posting this guff here is still unneeded just to prove a point of correction.
Imo, this whole thread is about Alex looking clever at Nigel's expense.

I don't have access to the other forum, since Nigel is the moderator I don't have a problem with him deleting this topic post as long as he responds to my points on the other forum.
Alex has a long history of pulling this kind of thing. It seems to be his personal quest to rid the world of all knowledge he deems unfit for mass consumption.
To be honest I am surprised it has taken him this long to make such claims.
Look at the numbers--I will stand behind them. You buy film by the foot not by time. So in comaparing the same length of film is quite accurate. It is an examination of actual costs not perceived value.
Good Luck
Nigel, why don't you make your claim on the Shooting 8mm forum and we'll see what they think?
..on the next Jerry Springer.
